This is a type of film that you have invest in and I would say have a little background on. It is not your typical film, where there is a plot and storyline that leaves you on the edge of your seat. And it would be unfair if you came into this film thinking that would be the case. Cameraperson was a good film and I appreciate the uniqueness and creativity behind it. But it often left me thinking about the transitions from scene to scene and the abrupt end to scenes. This film made me notice craftiness by the cameramen that I otherwise am oblivious to. For future films I will have a greater appreciation and eye for the craftsmanship of the directors and filmers. My take is Cameraperson is a collection of movies with in one movie itself. My favorite part about this film is the collection of directors favorite moments of her career shown through war, oppression, and her family ties. Lastly, the movie made me think that it is a metaphor for one’s memory of nostalgia and the past.
